Rebecca Rose
GITEP SCITT Director

Becky has worked in education in Gloucestershire since 2004 as a secondary teacher and school leader.  She has been a head of department and faculty, an induction tutor for early career teachers, and a Specialist Leader of Education. Before joining the GITEP SCITT leadership team in September 2021, Becky was the Initial Teacher Training Manager at Ribston Hall High School in Gloucester for many years and the GITEP SCITT Subject Leader for History. She leads the Gloucestershire Clio, a county-wide professional development network for history teachers, and is a member of the Chartered College of Teaching.  Becky is an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Bristol.

Karen Foster
GITEP SCITT Lead Mentor

Karen has worked in Gloucestershire schools since completing her training with GITEP in 1999. She has been a head of department for science and a deputy headteacher. She is currently Assistant Headteacher and Professional Lead for ITT at Pittville School alongside her GITEP role. Karen has a wealth of experience in supporting professional development for teachers at all stages of their careers. She has been a STEM leader, supported training of science teachers in the county and provided outreach support when working at Balcarras Teaching School. She has been an induction tutor and mentor for early career teachers and ITT at Pittville School. Karen is currently a studying for her PhD at Lancaster University, is a member of the Chartered College of Teaching, the British Educational Research Association, and is an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Bristol.

Anne Stokes
Lead Consultant

Anne has been involved with GITEP for more than 20 years.  As Headteacher at Farmor’s School, Anne was Chair of the GITEP EBITT Committee, which oversaw employment based routes into teacher training.  Since retiring as a headteacher in 2014 Anne has worked with GITEP providing support and expert advice.  Anne is an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Bristol.

Lucy Hemsley
GITEP SCITT Lead Mentor

Lucy is an experienced teacher and school leader, working in Gloucestershire for over 10 years. Since 2019 she has been Assistant Headteacher at Cheltenham Bournside School responsible for Teaching and Learning. Lucy has a wealth of experience leading professional development from trainees to experienced teachers and school leaders, both locally and nationally.

Lucy is also the South West Network lead for #WomenEd and the Gloucestershire representative for the MTPT Project, both organisations that champion female leadership in education and family-friendly schools.

Lucy is also a member of the Chartered College of Teaching and an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Bristol.
