Would you like to know more about a career in teaching and find out if teaching is for you? Join us for our Teacher Taster Day at Cheltenham Bournside School & Sixth Form Centre on Friday 8th November 2024, from 08:45 to 15:00.
If you’re thinking of teaching as a career (or career change), a Teacher Taster Day is a chance to find out about the routes into teaching, the financial help available, what’s involved in the training and, more to the point, what it’s actually like to be back in a school environment but on the other side of the desk.
You will observe lessons and see different teaching styles, learn how to plan a short lesson, then, in pairs, have a go at teaching your lesson to our students. Later in the day you will hear from GITEP course leaders about different pathways in to teaching and find out about the application process. There is nothing for you to prepare, you will be supported every step of the way and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
