We were pleased to be part of a Teacher Taster Day at Cheltenham Bournside School & Sixth Form Centre on Friday 18th November 2022 and have the opportunity to meet some excellent potential teachers.

If you’re thinking of teaching as a career (or career change), a Teacher Taster Day is a chance to find out about the routes into teaching, the financial help available, what’s involved in the training and, more to the point, what it’s actually like to be back in a school environment but on the other side of the desk. You’ll get to chat with teachers, trainers and students, experience different teaching styles, teach a lesson as part of a group and, as this group found out, learn how to plan a lesson.

This group really enjoyed their taster of Bournside School and hopefully came a little closer to a decision about a career in teaching. Each school offers a slightly different taster day experience but if you let them know which subject you’re interested in teaching, they may be able to tailor parts of the day around that subject for you.
