Trainee teachers of Biology, Chemistry and Physics all follow the Science Subject Pathway, guided by Subject Lead Emmaline Fletcher-Sykes. As the majority of secondary school science teachers will need to teach elements of all three subjects in Key Stage 3, we offer an online Subject Knowledge Enhancement course to boost subject knowledge before starting the course. This is assessed for the trainee’s chosen subject but also gives access to resources for the other two sciences. Our trainees also have subject knowledge enhancement days built into the science subject pathway programme to cover the key concepts of each subject.
